When i was a child, i used to go away my home to see the excavators around my neighborhood... Bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, motor graders, crowler-mounted excavators, etc.... This design was very dated by 1978 but the longevity of these machines can be seen by the number of old machines still found. The last of this era was the Build 5 Powertrain, the later shuttle transmission and better cab access transformed the 3C.

I wonder if this helps boost sales in the US and maybe improve parts availability(I have heard parts for the JCB Backhoe can be hard to come by or expensive)?
Parts can be pricey (but what brand isnt?), but they are pretty readily available. They have distribution centers in Chicago and FL. I can usually get critical parts overnight. But it's rare that I need a critical part. Most of my parts needs have been off-the-shelf hydraulic fittings, which you can get almost anywhere.
@@sccolbert I don't even operate or own a backhoe but I am a very die hard fan(my dream wish is to own one, one day). From everything I have read and seen, CAT is more widely used in the US and that CAT Backhoe parts are more readily available(probably better part distribution in the US). JCB Backhoes are not used as much in the US compared to the rest of the world. Maybe if more factories/parts distributors are built/available in the US, then purchase/use will increase and give CAT better competition in the US. In theory, better competition can bring prices down.
@@dmonsef I'm sure you will read in other posts, that your dealer makes all the difference. That is 110% truth. The CAT/Volvo/Case/Komatsu dealers around me are worthless. The JCB dealer has been the only one that has actually helped me grow as a small business. BOSS JCB (in Central TX) really goes above and beyond. Because of them, if I need a machine and JCB makes one, then I will buy it from them.
